Ride on Toys have been around for quite a few years and the features of these toys have changed for the better during that time. Ride on toy manufacturers such as Fisher price and John Deere are always coming up with new types vehicles to entertain kids such as kids ride on tractors.
The more common types of this kids ride on toys are cars and motorcycles and now you can get ride on fire truck toys. There are quite a few available on the market but most have poor online ratings. The best of the bunch is by far the Kid Trax Fire Truck as it consistently gets good reviews form parents. These fire trucks were originally made by a company called Safety 1st. Since then, Kid Trax have completely updated them with an improved drive system, battery and circuit board.
When you see a picture of this ride on fire truck, you could be forgiven for thinking it looks too small for a child to ride in however this isn’t he case at all. This ride on Fire Engine can seat two kids which is always nice because if you have two kids, it’s likely that both of them will want to use it. If not then your child can share their fun with a friend. The Kid Trax Fire Engine is quite big when you have it in front of you and has a maximum combined weight is 130 lbs. (59 kg).
Like many 12volt kids ride on cars, the Kid trax battery powered ride on fire truck has a default forward speed of 2.5mph with reverse at the same speed. And when you disable the speed limiter it will go forward at a maximum speed of 5mph which is pretty fast for this type of ride on vehicle. A foot pedal controls forward motion, reverse and stopping. Release the foot pedal, and the Fire Engine will stop. NOTE: When the foot pedal is released, the Fire Engine will coast slightly before coming to a complete stop.
Now for the fun bits kids enjoy most about this ride on fire truck. The Kid Trax fire engine has many realistic features to add to a child’s experience. Turning on the engine produces a real ignition sound and then you hear a real diesel engine running sound effect. There are then additional sound effects that work once the engine sound is on. The sound effects are – A main and rescue siren, air brakes sound, a rescue siren, air horn and megaphone speaker. There is also a simulated GPS map. A removable moulded axe and spade are included to help with pretend rescues.
The best feature of all has to be the real working water canon at the back which shoots out a 12ft jet of water.
The battery will last for around 10hrs between charges which is pretty good for such a large sturdy kids ride on. However, you will need to charge it for 24 hours prior to 1st use then 16 hours there after. A more than adequate charger is included.
It might be an idea to take out an extended warranty on this for piece of mind.
