The Aston Martin One-77    by Thom Sanders

When you take one look at the Aston Martin One-77 you may be inclined to think of it as a work of art first and an automobile second. That would be fine with the British carmaker because each One-77 is personally handcrafted by a skilled artisan with the attention to detail and one of a-kind craftsmanship that Aston Martin is famous for. The One-77 coupe was first unveiled in 2008 at the Paris Motor show however at that time only parts of the car were revealed as it remained partially draped in a tailored skirt throughout the show. In 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show the entire car was finally revealed to the public.

The initial run of units for the Aston Martin One-77 was limited to 77 vehicles the delivery began in October of 2010. However, even as this moving work of art is designed to please the eyes, it is also the most powerful Aston Martin vehicle ever in production. Sporting a 7.3 litre naturally aspirated V12 engine the One-77 is also a power-performance vehicle. Test drives have clocked it at real-world speeds of 220 mph, with a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds. With a price tag of around US$1,800,000 it is clear that this car is made with a select clientele in mind.
At one time it was inconceivable to imagine paying even six figures for a motor vehicle but that ceiling was shattered some time ago and now cars like the One-77 are able to command a selling price well into the seven figure range. In fact of the original seventy-seven One-77
